Then much later that evening it was a nice meal at Mortons... I was lost in my steak frites... Damn, it was tasty... Later on that night in the West Village there was a few guys trying to fight the bouncers at Off the Wagon bar and it spilled onto the street... I took a few pics and a video, it was a good laugh... Anyway, here are some pics from my last trip to NYC with Sharpie... We went the last weekend in April... Starting with a nice small AA jet to LGA we did it right once we got airborne... Upon landing, we had the car take us to Papaya King as always... Honestly, there no better tasting food in the world when you first land in NYC on a weekend in the early morning... Next stop was a quick haircut at JLD on the walk to midtown... Then a stop at Taki Sushi for early Dinner (aka Dinner #1) and a visit to my favorite big cat in NYC... Then, after some W action (aka a quick nap) we were ready for late dinner (aka Dinner #2)... Rare+ as always... Props to the whole crew on 5th Ave for taking great care of us... My cell phone battery ran out and I lost Sharpie sometime between when the sun was rising and our flight out at 9AM, this is how he found me at the air-a-port when as the flight was delayed boarding and I was running on fumes... Finally, when it was time to board, I was coming back from eating breakfast and I found Sharpie sleeping too... All in all, a good trip to NYC... Makes it easier, and no need to keep it in the private section anyway... Just click on the small pictures to see the full size...So, went and had a nice easter dinner with the family and Sharpie... Started by prepping the steaks... Then, there's only one way to cook them... Had some nice appetizers and sides for the steaks.... And of course the best type of salt to sprinkle on the steak... Check out the inside of the flank and rib eye... Cooked to medium/medium-rare perfection by yours truly... And of course, the best type of butter for the bread... Then, for dessert, went all out on a French theme... March 1, 2007 - March Hot Mix posted... February 26, 2007 - Just got back from another Saturday night in NYC with Sharpie... February 22, 2007 - Back from Dallas... Went down for a night, totally great town... Ate BBQ at a new place that was recommended, Feed Store BBQ... It was OK, I'd give it a B-... Anyway, I'm heading to Houston and Austin for 8 days of vacation in about 2 weeks so I'll have some great BBQ food reviews when I get back... County Line and Salt Lick will for sure be on the agenda... February 17, 2007 - Picked up a new TV today, got rid of the 42" Sceptre, picked up the brand new Sharp Aquos 46" LCD... Looks pretty sweet... February 11, 2007 - Back from a night in NYC... November is going to be delayed, I haven't even picked the color... Halloween mix will be posted instead... I updated the AA travel section with pics, and here are a few Tokyo pics since I'm not going to open the Travels section... Boarding passes as usual, personalized menus at The Oak Door - Grand Hyatt Tokyo, a toilet more intelligent that you, and me enjoying myself... October 25, 2005 - Chillin at the Doubletree Metropolitan in NYC... Ate some great udon for lunch and then sushi for dinner at Tanaka... Nothing like NYC living... Staying till Friday, then back to DC for a halloween party... Then off to Vegas Saturday morning, gonna stay there through Halloween, HRH style, and back to DC Tuesday evening... Hopefully gonna hit some amazing parties... Oh, I decided to make the travel tips and AA 777 First Class guide public... October 17, 2005 (8PM East Coast Time) - AA1730 to DC, riding 4A... Just had, probably, the best, or one of the best single dishes I've ever had on an airplane... 1/2 tortellini, 1/2 ravioli... tortellini was a cream sauce, ravioli was a tomato sauce... So delicious... and I wasn't even that hungry so I know it was good... I talked to the flight attendants and they said it was a new dish... I told them they should recommend it to their favorite fliers. :-) We are making up some serious time in the air, should be on the ground by 9PM or so... Can't wait to pick up the Type S and burn some premium at 7k rpm... Caffine from the coke is kicking in, feeling like I got my 4th wind coming on... Good juju for the jet lag... October 17, 2005 (8PM Tokyo Time) - AA154 in 2J to chi-town... Atlantic config, flagship style... Got some Beck piping through the Bose QC-2s... Nice mix for the 10 hour flight... Got news from the Captain that we are having some good juju with the winds, so only 10 hours travel time, shaves some good time off the flight... Gonna hit around 700 mph ground speed... Arrive around 3:20PM CDT, so about 9 hours to go from now... Gonna hit get some good sleep after my Turbot dinner... October 16, 2005 - Shibuya is my new favorite spot in Tokyo... Hit it up around midnight, club atom, for Tokyo Rave 2005 "Love" with DJ Ten... Shut the place down around 6AM, did some ramen near the Shibuya station, hopped on the train with the morning folk, and crashed around 7AM... Woke up at 11AM and did a perfect tempura lunch around at Ten-Ichi with fro... World class all the way, they even fixed his ghetto umbrella for him... Went for a hour long walk in Ginza and ended up at Tokyo Station where we bought our Narita Express tickets for tomorrow's train ride to the airport... But, not before partying in the station and getting our umbrellas upgraded... Got some Beard Papa's as a little snack and then went to Shinjuku for a huge sushi/sake/beer dinner at Tsukiji Sushiko... Wandered the alleys of Shinjuku and ended up getting ice cream at the Shinjuku train station, then, watched fro die in front of dozens of amused and confused Japanese before hopping on the train and going home... October 15, 2005 - Went back to the Oak Door at the Grand Hyatt again last night... Amazing dinner... Totally custom created by the chef for the three of us... Personalized menus for 3 hungry guys... Sampling of the best beefs, huge shellfish appetizer, fine wines and champagnes, and Bailey's with a splash of coffee... Props to Victor and Bradley for taking care of us... Capped the night off with more Roppongi action (as usual), did up Vanilla and then the usual places on the strip... Today we went to Harajuku and roamed the streets... Did the Japanese equivalent of a #6 at Wendy's for posterity... Came back to the apartment, walked Par to a cab and wished him a good flight... Took a nap and woke up around 6PM, Par rang up and let us know he was in 1C on United to SFO, sweet... Showered up and went to Roppongi Hills for some authentic Shabu-Shabu at a pimp daddy restaurant... Came back to the apartment to regroup and drop off some stuff, then went out and hit a bunch of places in Shibuya... October 14, 2005 - Woke up early and went for a long run through Tokyo until I got lost, then I went to the gym at the Roppongi Hills Spa which was probably one of the nicest I've ever been to in my life... I worked out for almost 2 hours, then ran back to the apartment... Tonight we will be having the personalized dinner for the three of us... I predict a legendary meal... October 13, 2005 - Woke up at 5AM and went to the Tsukiji fish market (one of the largest in the world) with Par and watched the tuna auctions in the morning then had some breakfast sushi (a tradition I'm told)... Then we went to Ito, it was totally amazing... Very traditional, sitting on tatami mats with shoes off facing the ocean eating sashimi and so forth... Also saw Mount Fuji, pretty cool to actually see it in person... October 11, 2005 - Another great night in Tokyo last night... Went to a phat restaurant (The Oak Door at the Grand Hyatt) and had one of the best meals I've ever had... Not just because of the food (Matsuzaka Beef), but the total experience... Got a personal tour of the restaurant from the Maitre' d and then from the head chef... It was so good, we are going back... In fact, we arranged a personally created dinner from the chef for me, Par and fro this Friday night... I can't wait as we told the chef what types of food we like and he said he'd prepare us a great meal, it should be epic... Ito trip is postponed until Thursday because the weather is supposed to be better on Thursday... Today ended up being beautiful also though, which is a good sign for tomorrow... Currently sitting outside in a Japanese garden next to Par's apartment building, in front of a 1000+ year-old temple... It's nice and peaceful and a good place to relax... I wanted some downtime before lunch so I decided to bring my laptop out here and blog a little... October 10, 2005 - 5PM Tokyo Time - First weekend in Tokyo is over, amazing experience... Tokyo is very different... The vibe here is very
rule-driven... They are all about following their
cultural rules... Things are extraordinarily crisp and
orderly... People don't eat in the streets, there are
no garbage cans anywhere, yet you will never see trash
in the streets... When riding an escalator, people
always stand to the left side so that if someone wants
to walk up or down the escalator, they can do so on
the right side... On subways and in restaurants, October 5, 2005 -12:00PM (CDT) - Sitting on board AA153 to Narita, 3J... 6267 miles to Tokyo and 13 hours 25 minutes once we take off on this fine 777... I've been reading over the menu and decided on the Filet for my first dinner and the Hokkaido stew for lunch tomorrow, as far as dinner tomorrow, I think I am leaning towards the miso salmon... Then again, there's another option to just get a vegetable and sausage pizza at any time... Maybe I'll do that since it will be a few weeks before I have the opportunity to get anything American like that again... October 5, 2005 - 9:30AM (EDT) - On flight AA to Chi-town... 5F on a Super-80... Totally clear skies at 34,000 feet, beautiful views... Brushing up on the Japanese as I only have 2 hours in Chi-town before heading to Narita airport, Tokyo... Got some Chemical Brothers coming through the headphones... Just finished a delicious breakfast of yogurt, pineapple, blueberries, strawberries, warm biscuit, and OJ... Looking forward to the flight to Tokyo... I think the 14 hours will fly by... Got 3J on the way there and 2J on the way back... I'm hoping to get a nice view of Mt. Fuji upon arrival... Halloween is planned, Vegas will be the place, Clockwork Orange theme for the 5 of us... But Friday night I'll be doing a little slipknot action in DC... Halloween party in DC is good juju the evening before Vegas... Fro and I are supposed to meet at the Citibank ATM outside of customs at Narita airport when we arrive ... Gonna give each other a 60 minute grace... Time to get back to reading my Japanese vocab book... October 2, 2005 - October is posted... For the next 30 days we have: 3 days until Tokyo... 20 days until Philly... 27 days until Vegas... September 3, 2005 - September is posted... Had a great week back from west side so far... In the middle of a great DC weekend, last one of the summer... It's about 10:15AM, and I am going to hit the gym later with Sharpie and then hopefully some rooftop pool action at C-house followed by a little grilling at my crib... Last night did AM in good style and had some fun on the metro ride home, but did it just a bit too early... I'm missing Cali a little bit right now, but it's always that way a few days after leaving... Especially with all the emails saying "don't fucking go back to the east coast dwizzo!"... lol... Anyway, Dubai is being planned now, should happen in early 2k6... Man, what a trip that will be, but for now, the focus is on Japan, need to finalize some reservations... August 29, 2005 - AA to IAD... Leaving SJC... What a great weekend... Friday night went straight to the Hilton SF directly from SJC, valet'd the trizzay, dropped our shit off in our 41st floor room overlooking the bay and the pools, and headed out straight to Ruth's for some cowboy action... Sat at the bar as always and had a sizzling meal... Hopped another cab and went to Holy Cow to get warmed up... Had some fun there but left solo-style to One8One in a towncar but decided not to go in after checking out the people in line outside, so we went over to broadway and directly into Dolce... The place was just starting to pick up so we decided to go to Fuse to do some shots and drinks and get a little drunk first, then go back to Dolce... At Fuse we had a blast drinking Jager, chatting up everyone at the bar, and then making fun of the AFCs trying to do whatever it is they try and do... Anyway, back to Dolce after a few rounds at Fuse, so we go straight in and directly to the main bar... Bachelorette party grabs us and wants some candy necklace action. I am in a good mood, so I play along and take some pics with them... They get a huge round of shots and I join up for that as well, then, on to the next episode... Bartender was great, and gave me free beers all night long since she said I was the only guy in there drinking beer so thought that was cool (wtf?)... Anyway, free beer is free beer, I'll take it... Shut down Dolce after chilling up in the VIP area for the last hour or so and walked down broadway heckling and doing the usual 2:30AM shit... Got a slice and decided to walk back to the Hilton... Got hassled by some bums in Chinatown on the walk home but they wised up before we could have any fun... Back to the Hilton around 4AMish too tired to do anything so just fell asleep... Next morning to the club for some breakfast and directly to the pool and spa to wake up... After a quick shower, directly to the Church for Lox's ceremony, then the rest of the day at the reception... Blew up some paint buckets with Nick's homemade M-80s, then back to the Hilton... Changed and went directly back down to Fahrenheit Ultra Lounge in SJ... Plan was to make an appearance and get back to SF to party with V and the crew but we ended up closing down Fahrenheit and didn't get back in the trizzay till 3:30AM... So we missed the action at Pulse but lucky when I gave a call up to the city there was still an after-hours going on at the Clift, 1 block from the Hilton... Got to SF around 4AM and walked over to the Clift... Woke up back at the Hilton at 9:45AM sharp and repeated the previous morning of breakfast at the club and then pool and jacuzzi... Again, showered, and headed directly to SBC park to watch the baseball game... Giants vs. Mets... Arrived around the 4th inning, got a 1/2 pound kielbasa with peppers and onions from the hidden corner stand and had about a dozen people around me ask where I got it from... Got an ice cream sandwich and large lemonade and left at the end of the 7th inning with a slight sunburn... 100+ on 101 in the Trizzay down to SC to play some frisbee before 7PM dinner at Yan Can... Bigger showing than I expected, 4 tables pushed together, then some cold stone as usual, little demo from Dozer of the M45... Some minimal Japan planning with Par and fro and then passed out at home in Sunnyvale... Full pics + vids soon... Gonna finish up September tonight.... Haven't decided on the color yet... I'm thinking black as summer is almost over, but who knows... August 26, 2005 - AA to SJC... Heading straight to the SF Hilton in Union Square when I get to SJC... Fro will be waiting in the trizzay for me... He's now the master of getting to SF, so I'm interested to see how fast he'll hammer it up to the city... So, Lox is gonna tie the knot tomorrow afternoon, so fro and I will pay a little visit, have a few drinks, and head to Fahrenheit afterwards for a little birthday party in SJ, then after making our appearance, head back to SF for some more of the same Friday night action, One8One and a suite at the Hilton... And then Sunday we'll do our traditional Yan Can get-together with everyone... Dozer has a new ride, the M45, and I know fro is gonna be anxious to show his system on the trizzay... Plus I know Shumin has some new tricks in the Lexus, unless he bought a new car this month again... Gonna post big pics when I get back, pics from Vegas, and all past trips I am lagging on... August 9, 2005 - AA to DCA... Best Vegas trip ever, one of the best trips of my life... Saturday night topped it, although I wasn't able to fully enjoy Rehab at the HRH pool because I was so tired.. Did up the HRH the entire time, except Monday night, moved over to Rio for some different action... Out of the group of 13, almost all were fun to hang with... We totally owned Light Thursday and Saturday, especially Saturday... Friday night did up Body English, 5 bottles of GG, $2500 tab + bribes... Before that was dinner at Craftsteak, $2200 for the Kobe menu, good stuff... Drinking Miller Lite during 10AM breakfast at Lucky's was good juju... Having traveller's heart syndrome right now, not too pleasant... Cold sweat pouring down my forehead, chills, dehydration from the plane air... Probably gonna skip McFadden's tonight, don't think I could survive it, but FP on Thursday is a near certainty, should be interesting as the interns are back home and school hasn't started yet, interesting crowd of locals I'm thinking... I will post pics for sure this time, within 1 week, gotta sort through em, about 300 or so pics plus a ton of videos... Got some good pics/vids from the Alien Ant Farm and Papa Roach concert at the Joint at the HRH... August 4, 2005 - AA to Las Vegas... Been too busy to write updates... Needless to say summer 2k5 has been the summer of Dwizzo... Heading to Vegas for an unprecedented 6 days... All play... Gonna miss out on some stuff that will be leaving DC after this weekend, but whatever, Vegas is calling, it's been a few months and we've got a dozen participants at the HRH all arriving today and tomorrow... Besides, I've been slumming it all summer (which has been great), so a little Craftsteak, Nobu, and AJ's action will do me nicely... Plus it's been longer than I can remember that I was at a club or ultra lounge... Probably gonna end up hitting McFadden's the day I get back, curious to see the non-intern pre start of semester crowd there... Should be interesting... Gonna post all pictures from DC this summer in one large batch... Also, Tokyo is confirmed, 2 weeks of play... minifro is slacking, but we're gonna do it up right with Par, bullet train to Ito and all... What else, shit, Lox's big day at the end of August, so I'll be in SF for a long weekend as usual... Didn't make Spain this summer, sort of a bummer but I didn't end up having time anyway, in fact, I'm on negative time for the rest of the summer, can't squeeze in everything or everyone that I wanted to, so it all worked out for the best, cause Spain would have squeezed a bunch of other stuff out since that was 8 days... Probably do France & Italy before year end instead... And then touch off the new year with an E.E. trip in the beginning of March and then repeat Cancun at the end of March... Lather. Rinse. Repeat. is the theme of my life... July 19, 2005 - OK, so a long time since anything has been posted... It's been a crazy month, crazy summer in fact... Too much going out, not enough sleep, lots of mixed juju... Anyway, I think things are semi under control right now... Although last night was 16 for 17 days of straight outings, although last night was mellow for a change, which is nice, and tonight promises to be the same... I am thinking the next 2 weeks will be mellow as Sharpie does his exile, although it will be broken in half this weekend by a little beach trip... July 1, 2005 - July hotmix posted... Red this time... Podcast will be enabled this month... June 23, 2005 - Heading out again tonight... Did McFaddens up 2 days ago, great time... Gonna hit up dupont tonight for sure... Heading to the beach this weekend, everyone's going, should be a good dozen or so of us up there this weekend... Good times... Pics to follow, promise... June 20, 2005 - OK, it's been forever since any updates... Lots of news, not much time to write... I'm hitting up the beach this weekend, leaving Friday, and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday got outings planned each night... Tonight was the first night in a long time I was able to just chill at home and have a nice wholesome evening... I thought it might do me some good... Looking like Tokyo is a near lock, Spain is 50/50, France is a near lock, and Cali is a certainty, with a very good chance of a 2nd cali trip this summer too... Plus we're already confirmed for Vegas in August... So much to write about... Don't even know where to begin... I have so many pics I could post... I need to upload all the updated travel and exercise shit too... June 1, 2005 - Back from 4 days at the beach... June Hot Mix posted... I will add the podcast link soon as well, email me for access to it... Planning Tokyo, Spain, and France trips... May 28, 2005 - At the beach... Good stuff so far, good crew... Saw a good band last night, Burnt Sienna, they did all cover songs... I remember Hartary telling me good things about them, he saw them at the Ballroom, anyway, I was up front and center, ears are ringing still, but it's all good... May 18, 2005 - USAirways 428 2F to National... Last plane ride for a little while... Gonna do some driving this weekend, and some more next weekend when I hit the beach... So next plane will probably be France/Spain... Tonight is Sith... So I was motivated find a good apprentice pic of Sharpie. I also realize I still need to post the pics of minifro's visit, I will do that soon... May 17, 2005 - Flying down to NC for the day, USairways FC 2F... I think I'm gonna take some pics of all the boarding passes from the past 2 months, I think they are all identical 2F passes... hehe... Anyway, had a great weekend, not much sleep, but it's all good... Got Sith this Wednesday, then UVA graduation this weekend... Then memorial day next week, and after that it's smooth open time to relax for the summer... May 12, 2005 - Flying back to eastside again, USAirways FC 2F... My last NC trip for a while... Gonna miss it, such a nice friendly place, but hey, DC is great, so I shouldn't be complaining... Anyway, same as every Thursday, gonna hit the gym with Sharpie, then some dinner, then out on the town, but no drinks tonight... Got V coming into town this weekend from Paris, should be fun... It'll give me a chance to go to some museums and so forth, do the tourist thing and have a wholesome weekend... I think overall it should be good juju... Speaking of juju, got some EXCELLENT news yesterday which should result in great juju coming my way soon, all for being in the right place at the right time... 8 figga nigga? Maybe, maybe not... But me, being the hard ass I am, all I can think of is how I could have been smarter about some things and really done it up right, and I beat myself up over it... Sigh... Well, overall I am happy and it's good stuff, but whatever, I never 100% enjoy anything, there's always part of me that's dark... The source of all my power... ;-) lol... Anyway, summer is fast approaching, got plenty planned, already have one phat vegas trip lined up, gonna do europe at least once, maybe twice, and then cali at least twice... Should be excellent juju... In fact, I may even do a little Japan to visit Par, as he's living it up in Tokyo and rubbing it in our faces! hahaha.... Hate it or Love it Par's on top... May 1, 2005 - minifro left tonight... sad times... But the weekend was great... Did it up at the Churchill, did Dupont on Friday and Adams Morgan on Saturday... Saturday was a night of jager, too many though, mixed juju at best... Friday was all about the good juju though, pretty damn near epic times... Did 2 Amys pizza for lunch Saturday and Sunday, did Buca di Beppo for dinner Friday and Lauriol Plaza for dinner on Saturday... All were excellent juju, especially the 2 Amys pizza on Sunday, talk about a life saver... Anyway, May mix is posted, I'm gonna take fro's advice and set up a podcast... April 28, 2005 - USAirways, first class 2A back to DC... Did a little southern time this week, just a few days, I'll be back in DC by 6:30PM, gym with Sharpie at 7PM, dinner at 9PM, out by 10PM... Getting ready for weekend of Frizzo, he's arriving tomorrow around 5PM... Sharpie will go to pick him up as I have other obligations I need to deal with in the late afternoon unfortunately... If all goes well, we'll check into the hotel by 7PM, get ready and make our 8:30 dinner res, then be fueled up and ready to roll by 10PM... The rest will write itself... Well, all is up in the air if we stay out too late tonight though, and hopefully fro will be thinking the same and won't miss his flight tomorrow... Get some sleep frizzo, you're gonna need it beotch! hahaha... April 21, 2005 - Oh ya... United flight back to DC... Needed a few days out of town, did me a world of good, should be home by 9PM, perfect time for a nice workout, dinner, and outing... I'm begining to realize that I can't stay in one place for more than a week or two, need the variety... Just got off the phone with fro before the plane took off, he's booked for next weekend... Gonna do some good catching up with him, I know Sharpie's looking forward to it also cause it's been a while, I guess the last time was Vegas at the end of January... That's not too bad, about 3 months ago... Sucks, I miss west side, I'm not there nearly enough... I'm gonna miss E3 this year too, man... So many things to do every year, not enough time, and planes are too slow... We need something faster so we can do daily trips coast to coast and across the ocean... RIP concorde... Anyway, gotta get the hotel for next weekend, probably do it Hilton style as usual, I think they've probably forgotten us so we're good to return now... lol... $50 tip for the maid... April 18, 2005 - Weekend report... Great time... Did a Tues-Sat non-stop week... Tuesday was mellow and early, Wednesday was, well, I can't remember now... Thursday you can read about below, Friday was Adams Morgan styling and then some BH and MH action, Saturday was mellow early and then L-bar... Sunday was a relaxing nap on a soccer field in DC... Today, well, I am recovering after getting a solid 10 hours of sleep last night, but still tired... Gonna get to bed early again today, flying down to NC for 2 nights tomorrow morning, so plan to me being at the CC for sure when I get down there... Martinis all around... And I will go to bar down there before long, I just need to go down on a Thursday or Friday, but it's tough, DC is so much fun this time of year... April 15, 2005 - So I read that everyone is scrambling to do their taxes today.. Sucks for them... I had a great experience last night, fell into some Moby tickets and got to see him live at the 9:30 last night... Played all my favorite songs, Go, Next is the E, Porcelain, Bodyrock, Honey, Southside... What a night, totally unexpected and totally amazing... Good juju was flowing... Excellent juju... Shit, it was almost epic juju.... Finished off with some FP action till last call and gonna hit DC up again tonight for sure... Gotta love springtime in the nation's capital, it's a great place... Oh, booked for Vegas in August, that's official... HRH action as usual, except this time I'll be doing more pool action with the hot weather... Hopefully gonna get fro out here to east side in the next month or two, been a while since we've hung out... I'll get pics from the past month up quickly, and May mix is about half done, it's gonna be the best of the year, got the color picked already too... April 11, 2005 - Gotta love the weather in east side right now... Did a little NC action eariler in the week to celebrate UNC's winning, although I'm a bit disappointed that the party in Charlotte was not as wild as Chapel Hill, but, whatever, still a great time... This past weekend was almost a clone of last one, except we hit up some VIP action at Anzu thanks to the godfather... Good stuff, but too many Jager shots, damn Sharpie, we gotta chill on that stuff... In America, you drink shots of Jager... In Soviet Russia, Jager shoots you! lol... Those jokes are good juju... Anyway, gotta sort through the pics, plenty of good stuff to post... Fro is gonna be coming to east side soon, and after that, we all gotta hit Japan to visit Par, who's living the life out there... April 3, 2005 - Crazy fun weekend... FP, LB, AA, TT, PB, and a few other places in DC I am probably forgetting... I'll post some pics this week... Oh, April Hot Mix is added, cd color is black, and I forgot to post the color in March, it was blue... I'm thinking May will probably be orange, we'll see... March 27, 2005 - Happy Easter to everyone... This weekend has been great, truly amazing... Last night we did up L-bar and TT's as always, and got our pre-drink and food on at Morton's... And speaking of Morton's, I am finally catching up on my email here and read one email from a few weeks ago, or maybe about a month ago from a typical hater, except this email was pretty unique in the sense that while he was hating on me, he was asking me how to get hooked up at Morton's as a VIP... Well, first of all, stop hating... Second, you cannot "ask" for this shit at these places, status is given automatically when you are the man... Also, another funny thing about this email, the dude also basically accused me of making up my VIP status, lol... Anyway, here's a picture of our bill from last night, which is hillarious because if you look, we spent more on liquor than we did on food! Being perfectly chisled comes at a price, that even if you can afford to eat a lot, you shouldn't, hehehe... And just for the hater, I put in my Morton's VIP card in the picture next to the bill, to stick it right in his little face and all the faces of all the other haters out there... March 25, 2005 - Gonna hit the Ritz tonight with Gasparri and big AV for some pre-drinking, should be good contrast as last night we did frontpage in DC and shut it down... March, 24, 2005 - Got my new RAZR in the mail today, I'm happy again... Oh, normally I don't talk about clothes or so forth, but I gotta say this about a pair of jeans I bought today... So I go to the Diesel store in g-town cause I've been calling them for like 2 months now every week to see if they got this one pair of jeans I like in stock in my size... They are a pair of jeans I saw at the Diesel store in San Francisco, but of course, my size wasn't avail... So anyway, I call today and they finally got in a pair of my size... So I drive over there and pick them up... I wear them out tonight and Sharpie says "interesting jeans, they are like greenish tinted" and I'm like "ya, it's Japanese denim, and they rub some dye in and then tear the denim a little bit by hand to release the color"... He asks the price and I tell him they were like $250, and so he's like "dude, that's like fucking Kobe beef, hand massaged, expensive Japanese shit"... He goes "I can't believe you are wearing kobe jeans"... hahaha, classic... "Kobe Jeans".... I think I've definitely hit a low point in my life when my friends refer to my jeans as "kobe"... Anyway, I'm enjoying DC right now, after spending a week in Cancun, Cozumel and other places in Mexico, then another almost week in Boston and NYC I'm totally worn out... March 23, 2005 - Sorry for the lack of updates, been in Cancun for a week, then NYC and Boston for another 5 days... Springtime = break time for Dwizzo... Pics will be posted very soon, there are tons of them, plus vids... Gotta sort through it all... No more trips for a while, I am exhausted from traveling, and after flying 20,000+ miles since the beginning of this year, I'm totally exhausted... So what else, I got a new cell phone, the Motorola V3 RAZR... Got it just before I left for Mexico, and then I lost it this weekend in NYC in a cab... So I ordered another one via overnight fedex and it should be here tomorrow... What crap... March 2, 2005 - Just came back from free ice cream at Baskin Robbins... Life is good... February 24, 2005 - How about some Tahoe pics, Vegas pics, and some SF pics??? The rest are in the travel section... February 23, 2005 - Riding AA from San Fran to DC... Trip home... I'm sad... I miss Cali and everyone already... I got in an extra dinner last night at Anzu with fro, which was cool... Holee couldn't make it, but he sent up some Mochi for us so that was a nice after dinner treat... The week here was amazing... Did it up Friday night on Broadway... Some dinner at Moose's and then clubbing at Dragon, Bamboo, and Velvet... Fro drank some generic vodka at Bamboo and I think he suffered permanent brain damage, lol... Around 3AM fro decided to take on two drunk irish dudes in a fist fight in the fast food joint... I came out of the bathroom and dealt with the shit... Got back to the suite at the Hilton and drank some more level and made a call to Sharpie but he didn't answer and we didn't get our fix... 8AM the next morning called him back on speakerphone and got our 20 minute fix... Good shit... Saturday we roamed SF and drove back in the M3 to SC... Went to the airport later that night to pick up the rental car (4X4 SUV styling) and did a 14 person dinner at Yan Can and had a mini meet on the rooftop with the lotus, vette, LS, etc... Shumin was the life of the party with his VIP ride... Woke up around 4AM with Kingpin and RO knocking on the door and we all loaded up in the SUV and drove to Tahoe with fro who is maniac behind the wheel.. Stopped and bought some chains which was a total fucking waste, but fun nevertheless... Got to Tahoe and stopped by Art's new 7-figure house in Truckee... Changed into our snow gear and got to the lodge where we skipped all the lines and got our equipment and hit the lifts right away... Skiied all day with a small beer/pizza break at Bar 1 for about an hour... Did some more skiing, decided to hit some advanced black trails and regretted it... Left the mountain and drove to the hotel to check in at Harveys where we got a nice upgrade to a top floor lake view room... We were all showered and downstairs at the hard rock cafe drinking and eating within an hour... Rest of the night was a blast with Homey Pigeon guiding us... Monday we relaxed and spent 7 hours driving home through traffic and tornados in Sac-town... Last night did Anzu with fro, spent way too much money on expensive Sake and Sushi while fro dined on a double-filet with money asparagus... I started with a $13 crab cake about the size of a mochi ball... What a joke, but it was tasty... Got the VIP corner sofa/booth so we were relaxing and making jokes about the weekend... This morning I slept in a little bit, walked over to the Diesel store and Cingular store and decided to get a new pair of jeans and a new phone... Checked out around 11AM from the Hilton and said goodbye to the staff that took care of me all week and had my car waiting out front... I got in and immediately fell asleep and woke up 30 minutes later to see the airport terminal... Such a nice smooth ride... No club in the airport so I arrived there with about 30 minutes to get my flight... Got to the gate about 15 minutes before the flight was scheduled to leave and heard my name paged twice on my leisurely walk to the gate... Gave my boarding pass, made some jokes with the AA workers, and got a nice escort onto the plane where my seat was waiting for me... Made some more jokes with the flight attendant who made an exception and gave me a take-off VT even though they were not serving before takeoff... Just woke up as we have about 30 minutes to land and I think I've slept enough... Can't wait for Mexico in 2 weeks... Oh, I booked New York and Boston for a 4-day weekend a few days after I get back from Mexico... More on those trips later... Still gotta plan end of March b-days and Memorial day... February 16, 2005 - Riding AA to San Fran from DC... Gonna spend a week in west side, mostly in the city... Weekend styling is probably gonna be more of the same, Suite One8One or some V Lounge or Zebra action, whatever broadway is serving up... I think it'll be all good either way, although J is sorta against Suite One8One cause he just had his b-day there... Also gonna take a trip to Tahoe with fro for a few days take advantage of the long weekend he's got the day off, should be good... Got it all lined up with the SUV for the ride and gonna do some hard rock action as we're staying there... February 15, 2005 - Had a great weekend... Sharpie and I rolled out hooligan style and did the monster thick burger, lucky bar, and adams morgan... Hit a new place called Chloe and of course made our mark at Tom Tom... Rest of the weekend was mellow as I had things to take care of... I of course had a meal at Roy Rogers to support the cause and keep the tradition alive... V-day was sweet, took hottie S to a nice dinner at Paolo's, and had one of the most amazing dishes of my life, a very nice tenderloin... Man, it was so tasty, I hope they offer it again, I'll totally go back... I gotta say, S looked damn hot in her new Valentino dress... Anyway, few more things to do before west side... and for the record, the weather here in DC is AMAZING, gotta love mid 60s degree weather in the middle of February... February 10, 2005 - AA 1900 back to DC, missin Dallas already... Great people... I look forward to comin back soon... East side should be fun, got a few things to take care of this weekend before I leave for Cali... February 6, 2005 - Superbowl sunday here in Dallas... Gonna hit up Gattis for the game... This weekend was amazing, Uropa on Friday and Slip Inn last night... I planned to go to the Slip Inn around 10PM for a little pre-drinking and then head to Purgatory... Well, I got to Slip Inn around 9:30PM and stayed until it closed after 2AM... It was my first time at the Slip, and I walk in and before I can even get to the bar the bartender raises his arms in the air and starts screaming, then yells "I gotta burn something" and he pours Bacardi 151 all over the bar and lights it on fire, then throws napkins all over the fire and they catch on fire, then picks them up and starts throwing them everywhere, he then douses his hands the fire on the bar and the palms of his hands are on fire, then another bartender sprays him, the flaming bar and napkins everywhere down with water... This was in the first 60 seconds that I walked into this place, so I knew it was gonna be a good time... I started with a bottle of beer but quickly had the bartender make me a shot of his choice... He made a concoction of Bacardi 151 and about 4 other hard liquors and told me it was called a tree hugging hippie (or something like that), he made two shots, and we each did one...I think he was drunk by 10PM... and by the way, it was actually a full glass, not a shot, so it was more like 3 shots (even bigger than the Jager shots at lucky bar)... About 10 seconds after drinking the shot I felt buzzed, it was strange... I met about a dozen people, most were drinking straight up vodka, everyone was so fucking cool, I swear it was like hanging out with old friends... I love this town... So anyway, Uropa in Deep Ellum on Friday was great too, but totally different, as it was a large club, not a small dive bar... Anyway, I'm here in D-town until Thursday, then back to east side for the weekend, then I think I'm gonna try and hit up Cali for a week or two, and spend a weekend there so I can see Shumin's new Lexus and visit with everyone, I've been away for too long as usual... Oh, Sharpie and I are booked for Mexico in March, gonna do Punta Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, Cozumel, and Puerto Morelos, all VIP styling during the night and ghetto slumming it during the day, except for our ATV/diving trips, those will be VIP style, just like snowmobiling in Vail, solo style... International trips are the new theme for the 2k5... February 3, 2005 - Must be the air in Texas, but I'm feeling friendly and generous... I put a bunch of links to some misc trips and shit, enjoy... Here's SF last month, here's Chicago last month, here's DC last month, here's Dallas last month, here are some receipts for the haters... Oh, and if you think I'm only pouring Crissy and Grey Goose, here's some proof I drink it all, bling bling baby... Good juju MFs... February 2, 2005 - AA 851 to Dallas... Gonna be a phat time, superbowl weekend in D-Town is a first for Dwizzo... But we're all about firsts here... What else... February Hot Mix revised and reposted, I posted the Vegas Mix CD on accident... Email me if you want a burn, ain't a thing... Lessons learned from Vegas will be applied on our next trip, we're gonna have to do that shit semi-soon I think, Sharpie's talking about Fall, which is a nice time to go, not too hot, not too cold... I think I need some non-US time soon, maybe Cozumel or Cancun... Also got to hit west side... I promised Lox I'd visit before the end of February as he just had his b-day... Probably will do San Fran, maybe BBC can even join up... and I know fro will be there... Hell, maybe we can even get the trio in west side this month... Anyway, Vegas was the bomb.. .Did it up at the HRH every night, Body English first, then a mix the 2nd, then Light the 3rd... Want coke? Want blow? V-town is the place for you, it's all over... Food, AJ's is the best I've had, even better than Craft I think... Pink Taco is the best for during the day drinking and eating, especially on the patio... Gaming? I don't really gamble, but as fro knows, I love the super fun 21 at the HRH Center Bar... Always double-down on 12, 13 or 14, it's a guaranteed win, even the dealers know my style and can't resist... Drinks? Mic Ultras one after another, non-stop, don't fuck with me miss waitress, just bring my beers non-stop and you'll keep getting your chips (as long as fro keeps getting BJ's and has change to dish out)... Pics? Ya, how about 2 bottles of Grey Goose at Body English for 7 bills and one bottle at Light for over 3 just for starters... And that's just the bottle service, it doesn't include anything that happened in the room, elsewhere, or later in the club... Fontana was bad juju this time, but I think it's cause it's a couples place, gotta roll in a duo, don't try for the group... Good news is that everything else was good juju, especially Light on Sunday, props to frizzo for that... And big ups to Sharpie for hitting it big on the first night (Venetian Suites!)... Sharpie, next time you better fucking have a pic for us you shutterbug, damn you... Read my blog!!! Oh, tips and tricks section coming soon, it will be in Lifestyle or its own section... Spreading the good juju to everyone, even the haters... February 1, 2005 - February Hot Mix posted... Also, I watched Napoleon Dynamite for the first time, and now I've got quotes stuck in my head... But whatever, I gotta post all the Chi-town and Vegas pics before I leave for Dallas tomorrow... Did I mention that I'm pretty good with a bo staff? January 30, 2005 - Preparing for Dallas, gonna take a weeklong trip, take off this Wednesday, and come back in a little over a week... It'll be nice to spend a weekend there for once, especially with the superbowl going on... January 29, 2005 - Back on east side... Recovered all week from getting sick on the plane ride back from Vegas... Ate dinner and checked out the new bar at HN#1 in A-town tonight, it was good stuff... Big updates soon, promise... Plus a new style blog, I'm going to combine my private live journal with this blog to include everything in one, should be easier on me and a better read... Whole site may go private, if it doesn't work well, but whatever... January 25, 2005 - Back from Vegas, I think I caught a cold on the plane, bad juju, updates later... January 21, 2005 - 4F to Vegas with Sharpie... Meeting fro at the racing bar when we land... January 16, 2005 - AA 4050 coming back from Chi-town... Had a great weekend... Not much sleep, too much liquor, and excess of all the other stuff... I have a few days to detox before heading to Vegas on Friday... Did some Whiskey Blue last night, fun stuff, had the big corner couches and many rounds of shots and so forth... Friday night was Morton's and Back Room, cool cat style... Gotta say the orig Morton's is no different than any of the other places... I wonder if they changed it or if they just made every other one to look the same as the original... Anyway, it was good as always... I also gotta say that Chicago being such a cold city in the winter is actually not a bad thing... When I landed the pilot said it was minus 8 degrees. The windchill was supposedly around minus 20 degrees. But, as long as you bundle up, take taxis everywhere, it's actually pretty nice to be indoors, in a nice restaurant or bar when it's freezing outside since all these places blast the heat and it feels good to be so "insulated"... I almost imagine that it's sort of like being in one of those ice hotels under the blankets... Anyway, I gotta get some sleep, I'll post pics tonight or tomorrow morning... December 30, 2004 - AA 1900 with R on my way back to east side... last flight of 2k4... Got hottie picking me up from the airport and we're gonna head straight into DC for some pre-nye fun... Although the weather in Dallas was awesome (in the 70s), I'm looking forward to the cold weather in DC cause I always associate Christmas time and New Years with a nice cold night... Although I gotta say that I've got nothing against SoBe as that was pretty damn tight... So anyway, I'll post a bunch of shit after this weekend, plenty of pics from all my recent trips and I will even put up a few new sections similar to the hot mix section with travel tips and so forth... I've been getting lots of emails asking for travel tips and restaurant tips so instead of just posting everything I've done, I'll post some tips on how to do it... That will be one of my new year's resolutions, to give something back to the world after taking so much from it all of these years... December 27, 2004 - AA 851 stylin to Dallas this morning... My 2nd to last flight of 2k4, and it's a nice one so far... Looking forward to some Jack's Pub tonight, hopefully it won't be too cold out, as east side has been damn cold lately, although it was nice on Christmas... Speaking of which, I hope everyone (even y'all drinking haterade out there) had a phat Christmas with lots of cash and gifts... So far December has been good juju for the Dwizzo... Sharpie's been rollin with it also, things are on the up and up for that guy... Boss'ed it up on Sunday as did I, we're good for Vegas, and I know fro is all set as well, as he's got his private party connections in SC to get his threads, and he's been using them... Got tons of pics to post, I'll do it this week, or next, but no later than next... I also promise some good pics from Chi-town and Vegas right after those trips... I am also going to do some big updates to the rest of the site, there are lots of updates coming... Including plenty for the haters, especially for y'all ya know... Now, back to the sounds of M5 to put me to sleep for the rest of the flight... Oh ya, many of you know that I burn CDs for each trip, and even when there's no trip, I burn CD's for different events, but behind all that, is my monthly burn... fro's always asking for copies and so forth, so I decided to post a tracklist of my current CD on here, I think I'll post it right below the private link on this page, check it out "December Hot Mix"... December 20, 2004 - What a great weekend here in D.C.... CQI party Friday night followed by some Cafe Savino, Dragonfly, and a killer party in A-town... Saturday was even better with Sharpie and I rolling solo at Morton's for a sweet dinner, doing a whole bottle of Col Solare and getting hooked up with VIP passes for life... Then, LB and TT's till 3AM followed by the big slice... Very godo juju all night long... So, just booked my flight for Dallas, going back next week and for sure I'm gonna hit have a nice day and some Deep E... Still haven't decided on New Years, but I'm thinking about doing it up 2k3 style, especially since I'll be in Dallas the day before and then Chicago and Vegas partying the next few weeks... Plus, I think I'll be the only one on east side, especially DC, as fro's gonna be in NYC, and everyone else is spread out to vegas and miami... Oh, also booked flights to Chicago for the weekend before Vegas, so that's all set... Gonna follow Bernie's tips and hit some nice steak houses there and get me a good martini and some morning waffles at the four seasons... Plus a little Jazz show one night so I see right in the performer's eyes... I'm always looking for the glimmer of intelligence... December 9, 2004 - Spent the whole week in Dallas, but I'm leaving today... I gotta get back home and take care of some stuff, but I'll be back here soon... Plus there's a good chance I'm gonna do Philly this weekend... Dallas was a good time, there are some great places here, but I'm looking forward to being here on a weekend when there will be more action... Jack's Pub on Monday was good, went to lower Greenville Tuesday night and that was OK, sorta dead, but Suede was a bunch of fun, friendly people and cheap beer ($2 heineken), and then Have a Nice Day Cafe on Wednesday, which I'm sure is even better on Thursday, although both nights are the same theme.... But want to do the deep ellum places over the weekend, like Uropa and Purgatory... Anyway, the people here are friendly, and the food is good, so no complaints and I'm looking forward to coming back in a few weeks when I can stay over the weekend... Oh, Sharpie gave the green light so Vegas is confirmed for January... The trio is set, plane tickets and the HRH are booked, plus we got phat res'es at all our restaurants and clubs... backwardshat styling all the way as usual, gonna be epic as we're gonna be rollin with pocketfulls of Gs all 4 days, except at the EC where we gotta watch ourselves, but other than that, no holding back... December 4, 2004 - Morning, and I feel great... Thursday night was rough, Andrew got me to go out, and DG joined up... We hit like 3 places in Dupont and ended up at the Citron, which was a blast... Too many shots though, rough Friday morning and Friday day... Last night was more mellow, with some nice Argio's in the evening... Today I'm heading down to Charlottesville for some UVA action, but just a day-trip, gonna be hitting DC tonight as usual... I missed some people last night but I hear they were at Spank and it was hoppin... Oh, got a LV trip planned, once Sharpie gives the green light it's official as fro has already confirmed and of course I'm good to go... It'll be a mid-January deal, backwardshat style, and a first for just the trio... Too bad fro can't ride with us going and coming, but we'll see him at McCarran tipsy... I will post more pics soon too, lots of pics from the past few weeks, just been busy/lazy... November 27, 2004 - Saturday in east side... Gonna hit up g-town tonight, Sharpie's got the VT on the way for us... I think we're gonna throw some B&B into the mix tonight to see what happens since we usually roll solo... I say it'll be a good time, and Sharp thinks so also, but who knows, could be a recipe for disaster, haha, who knows... Anyway, no pics tonight, it's too cold here, and we're starting too early to get our shit that together... November 25, 2004 - Thanksgiving... Today was great... Spent Thanksgiving with family and friends in east side, and had the whole traditional deal going on... Way too much food (I think I ate too much) but it was good... I took care of preparing and cooking the turkey, and everyone said it was one of the best they've ever had, so that was nice... We had way too much wine (I think I drank too much) but it was good... It was a great feeling being home for a family holiday, it had been too long when I was in Cali, and I missed the feeling of close family and everyone being together... Nothing much else to report, things were very mellow today... It was nice though, and relaxing, fire going in the fireplace, everyone dressed up nicely... It makes me happy and warm inside, one of those days where I get to just be normal and relax, I'm just Dwight, a part of a family, doing a normal, traditional activity, nothing out of the ordinary, which in my life, is out of the ordinary and becomes variety, so it's nice to fit in in a traditional sense... But I know that once tomorrow comes I'll be happy yesterday is yesterday cause Christmas is just around the corner and I'll be doing the same thing... In the interim it'll be Dwizzo time... And then there's new years, where I have yet to determine what's happening, although GL is already set up for LV... We'll see... November 14, 2004 - Going back to east side today... But still have a few hours before I gotta head to the airport.. Just chillin right now on the couch by the balcony listening to some music as fro is getting ready... Got all the windows and balcony door open... It's such a perfect day outside, nice crisp breeze and warm sun with a perfect blue sky and a few white clouds... Gonna hit some top dog at Berkeley soon, I still need to pack though... Sigh, deep thoughts again as I was chatting with fro this morning about living in Cali long-term and I know that it's a great fit for me, at least in the bay area (or maybe SD), but I always liked Nor Cal for living and So Cal for hanging out... But whatever, it's all good both ways, and things are great now with the travel and I'm having a blast on the east side... Anyway, time to get ready to head out, I'm looking forward to rollin in the trizzay... November 13, 2004 - Mornings are tough, but it's a phenomenal day... Perfect clear day in San Fran, so beautiful... The view from the hotel is amazing, so clear and perfect... Windows open, listening to some Pharrel, eating waffles in bed... Anyway, last night was fucking awesome, we did it up right at RC to start, then some pre-drinking at the hotel and a 2 block walk to Suite One8One... That place is awesome, definitely the best club I've been to in SF, and one of the best in the US for sure... Hip-hop floor in the basement rocked, with fro spitting his jokes as usual... Did some dirt towards the end, and got mad props from the crowd for it all... Gotta love SF... Bleh, the empty bottle of grey goose sitting on the bar in front of me right now is making me queasy, lucky I got my water bedside and the waffle hit the spot, delivered crisp and with a smile... Anyway, time to snooze a bit more and then hit the shower and gym before heading to Tiburon and Napa and SC tonight for dinner with the crew... November 11, 2004 - San Fran was rainy today, but a beautiful night... Did it right at Cortez, with some nice chocolate fondue at the end... Had a nice french bottle of red too, tasty stuff and nice big glasses... I'm really looking forward to the weekend... So much to do, so little time... Things at the Hyatt are nice, I have a big suite on the exec floor, with all the trimmings, but the real excitement are the protesters outside... Local 12 Union I think it is, they are at all the big hotels in the city, blaring their message over megaphones and chanting and holding their signs... I'm looking forward to steak tomorrow night, I had some nice medium-rare lamb tonight, but it just left me wanting more... I'm gonna do it up cowboy RE style tomorrow night at RC on Van Ness... Which reminds me of my first meal ever in San Fran back in 2000, I'll have to post a pic of that night with Niazi, that was a fun time... Demi-bottles of Opus all over the table, hehe.... Makes me laugh to think of myself 4 years ago, I love it... Anyway, time to sleep this buzz off... November 10, 2004 - Flying back to west side, AA styling as always... Doing some deep thinking... Guess this always happens when I'm going between east side and west side... Plans are SF for the week and weekend, except some SC Saturday night and then Berkeley styling for Top Dog Sunday on the way to the airport... Can't make Thunderhill with fro tomorrow but we will do it up in the city Friday night, Hilton styling in U. Square and hitting the mission this time (if Fro gets his shit together and sets something up), as we've both had our fill of the V-lounge... Looking forward to dinner with Joon, Shumin, fro, Lox, Par, Dozer as it's been a while since we've all been together in Cali... Had dinner with Par at the Occidental two weeks ago, but it seems like the only time we meet up is on east side... Anyway, H2 all night Saturday with fro, too bad Hosun is stuck in DC, but it's a 2-person gig anyway, so he couldn't join in... But it was nice doing some Woo Lae Oak with him last week, gotta dig that place... Even though I am not in Cali yet, things are already looking better... I will be curious to see what the attitude is like after the election there, I don't think there will be any difference though, since Cali is the shit... We know it, doesn't matter how fucked up the rest of the country gets, we'll always be on top and living large... Makes me want to do some R1 riding with dozer or Lotus hella cali crusin with Lox and Niazi or a Nor Cal sports meet with Shumin and the crew (watching Z06's bottom out and fly off cliffs in a cloud of dust)... Thinking about dinner now, did Postrio the past three times I've been in SF... It's good stuff, especially the rib eye and vegetarian sampler, but I think I gotta swing something else with fro, as he's wanting RC's bar action, and just ate Morton's this past Monday for Kesh's b-day... Maybe some Harris for variety... Hmmmm, choices, choices... It's a tough life... So I'm watching some T.I. right now on my laptop and rubberbandman reminds me of my last trip with Fro when we were at the Plaza in SF with the Nakamichi in the room and I filmed my own Prodigy-like video... We realized that T.I. ain't the only one worth a couple hundred grand... It was a phat moment, big pimpin style with the Grey Goose and good tunes... I am curious to see what Fro brings to the Hilton this time since he's in charge of the benzie box for this trip... I know Dozer wouldn't go less than a G since we set the bar with the 321's at the Century Plaza in 1911... Flying makes me so happy, just crusing here at 35,000 feet with the clouds way below me on my way to Cali makes me so damn relaxed... Makes me wonder if I'll ever fly just to relax, I've never done that yet... The idea just popped in my head, take a round trip flight for a few hours to chill out and decompress... I think of flying to Vegas or LA or SD with Fro and having Sharpie waiting at the airport with the Type S and redbull mix, except I'd just turn around and go back, not even leave the airport... I dunno, gotta try it and see how it goes... Makes me want some Hibachi action in PB with Fro, Sharpie, and T the T... I miss those days in So Cal... The captain just came on and on my side of the plane there is a lightning storm over the Sierra Nevada... I've never seen a lightning storm from above, it's pretty amazing actually, huge groups of clouds totally light up, looks almost like glowing jellyfish at night... November 3, 2004 - Black Wednesday... A day of mourning... No updates today, no pics, no nothing... Going to bed early... November 2, 2004 - Exhausting day, but we more than doubled the voter turnout in two 100% pro-Kerry neighborhoods, one in north Philly and one in west Philly.... Not bad for a swing state which will hopefully no longer be looked at as a swing and one in which I am confident we will carry... Heading to the DNC party at the Warwick hotel right now... November 1, 2004 - So it has been a crazy October... Fro was in town for Halloween, so we did it up right with Sharpie in AM and G-town... I am so exhausted, but I dragged my ass to Philly today to do some good... Got here this morning, spent the whole day talking to residents of Philly and the Bryn Mawr suburbs about who they are going to vote for tomorrow... So far I've gotten two undecided voters to make up their minds... I gotta thank moveon, because without them I probably would have never even thought of visiting a swing state... Anyway, I'm chillin at the Hyatt Regency at Penn's Landing... I have a nice phat view of the river almost at the top of the hotel, this place is nice... Dinner here is excellent too, the restaurant is called Keating's and I strongly recommend the Petit Filet with Crab Napoleon, it's a great dish... Anyway, it's going to be an early morning and a very long day as I will be at the polls from start to finish, trying to make a difference... If things go well, there will be lots of partying to do... October 5, 2004 - Been thinking about a lot of things lately... Deep thoughts... But anyway, I did some partying this weekend with Sharpie, it was fun... Out till 5 or so in AM in DC... TomTom to be exact, good time, then some after-hours dirt, nothing special... Gotta plan something good soon, things are getting a little boring around here... I need some more west side I think, too much east side isn't that great, although the weather is perfect these past 2 weeks... OK, I think I'll finish up some work on the new Type-S... September 26, 2004 - Some people say change is good... I agree, variety is the spice of lizzife... The old S-type is gone, and a brand new black on black 2005 4.2 with nav, xenon, and heated seats is in... Pics are in the toys/vehicles section... September 24, 2004 - Flying back from Cali, 4F as always on AA 737... Had a blast, big blue party Tuesday, Moulin Rouge style, and 4-seasons party Thursday on Treasure Island, also saw Train and Kool and the Gang... I may post a few pics of that or small vid clips... Fro and I got front and center stage for Kool and got to shake hands with the legend, it was dope... September 19, 2004 - NYC was pimp... Saw Wicked (great) and had Britney in the audience... Ate some phat French food... That's about it... Leaving for Cali tomorrow, gone for a week... September 16, 2004
- Leaving for NYC tomorrow... Big pimpin weekend ahead fo sho...
Anyway, major updates to the site today, all updates are posted on the
public site, sorry for not posting anything for so long... September 10, 2004 - Checked out of the Hilton and into the Marriott with Fro and Steve... Did some nice Postrio (WP's place in SF) with SMC/FMC and the rest of his crew... It was a pretty phat dinner, linguine with foie gras sauce and roasted squab was money... I will have to go back for that dish next week when I'm back in SF... Tonight we're gonna do some V-lounge action as usual, off the hook in SF... September 6, 2004 - Labor day in San Fran, spent the day with Lox and Fro in Tiburon chilling with Perfect... The weather was great, and we capped the night off with some Ruth's Chris action (fro's first time bar styling it too)... Cowboy rib eye was money as usual, although I wish Morton's or Harris had been open, but it was still a good meal... Anyway, the rest of the week should be non-eventful, gonna do Sake Lab with KC and probably some Blowfish on Thursday, other than that, I'll be relaxing and enjoying the city... September 5, 2004 - Flying on AA to Oakland via Dallas Fort-Worth… Gonna do it up tonight and tomorrow with the boys... Sitting in 5A right now and funny enough, Dick Gephardt is in the first class cabin with me, sitting in 4E but moved to 4F after we took off. I think he purchased both seats because I heard them announce that first class was full and it is, except he has an empty seat next to him... Way to go big pimping Dicky, you need a backwards hat man... Small world... August 30, 2004 - This whole week I am in Toronto, I'll post pics when I get back, I like this city... Friendly people and plenty to do... Walked down all of Yonge street and back tonight, past Bloor St, great town... August 19, 2004 - Heading to Maine today, will be there for the next week or so to have a mini-vacation and party like it's my birfday... Gonna get a nice treat and get to go out with a Maine lobster fisherman and haul in some lobster traps and then bring home some fresh ones straight from the ocean, gonna be tasty... Plus, there's the blueberry festival this weekend, so I'll be eating my share of doughboys and other phat stuff... and of course, gonna do Red's Eats... Pics when I get back... August 11, 2004 - Up in CT, nothing much to report, enjoying the peace and quiet at the Westin... July 21, 2004 - Flying back to east side... It's very sad, and to top it off, my fucking flight to Chi-town got delayed so I switched to Dallas so I could get back home before Thursday... I need some time to decompress before heading to NYC on Friday... Bad thing is the plane was full and I didn't get a seat in the front of the plane, so all the haters are happy to have deeez nuts flying coach... lol... Don't count on it happening too many more times in the future... Anyway, had a blast this weekend with fro et al... Spent some good time with Faisal, and had a good lunch at Google about an hour before my flight left (Thanks GL, you're the man bro)... I gotta say, that place looks like a great place to work... Lots of intelligent, attractive, young people, and great facilities (old SGI buildings)... Everyone seems happy to be there... I guess that's to be expected with the pending IPO... Anyway, GL's talking about a V-town trip in the near future... Par is there today but I couldn't make it... Too much happening over the summer... Anyway, pics from San Fran, pics from Palo Alto, pics from Santa Clara, and Pics from San Jo are all in the travel section... Get ready for some NYC styling in a few days when I get back from big pimping at the WA... July 17, 2004 - Leaving Denver... Man, it's a little sad, I had a good time this week... Hanging with S and S, hitting some fun restaurants and bars, it was a good time... I don't really have many pics but I'll probably write a mini-review on everything in travel... Best recommendation is for Sushi Den, if you're gonna be in Denver, go there, and don't fuck with anything else, it ain't worth it unless you have a solid rec from someone who knows their shit... For drinking, bleh, so many good places, almost reminded me of 6th or the WD in the ATX... For a W-like hotel/bar and a good place to start the night, try the Luna... Anyway, flying to LA right now, then San Fran... Gonna hit up the PH tonight with fro (Nakamichi in the house at that place), hopefully Par et al., gonna do some steak and so forth... July 12, 2004 - Since my trip to Paris was centered around restaurants I decided to make it public and post the trip in the food directory. Of course, the full photo spread is in the trips section, and I haven't completed the full reviews yet, so a bunch of it is just pics with minimal descriptions, but I wanted all the restaurant stuff in a public directory, so it's in the fooderati section... Enjoy... July 11, 2004 - In the air flying to Denver for a week... Going to hit up some restaurants I've been hearing good things about... Then, back to Santa Clara for the weekend (I miss my old place) and a couple days, gonna party with minfro west side style... Probably tear it up in San Fran at the GH and VL as always... I was rocking last night at Club Air in DC before my flight today, which I don't regret one bit even though I'm on a few hours sleep... It was a bad ass time... Bob hooked us up with a VIP Cabana and bottles of bub and Grey Goose so it was all good... The DJ gave in to our pressure and switched his tunes around midnight or 1AM from techno/house to hip-hop and rap... Sharpie and I cut up the dance floor when UrSher and lil' Jon were blasting... We ended up playing the same music in my car with the windows down parked in Adams Morgan at 4AM and had a crowd of maybe 30 people chilling with us while we chowed down some big slices... After hours styling in Adams Morgan at Club Dwizzo... When Luda started playing, I think that's when the crowd started getting big... What an experience... Anyway, I've just been reminiscing about some of the trips I've taken lately that I haven't had time to write about... I am going to use this week in Denver to write some long narratives, especially about Paris, which was a shiznit kicking trip... Decadent luxury and amazing sights... Imagine a 30 euro bison piss vodka tonic (credit to Par) in a famous ultra lounge followed by a pre-dawn stroll past the eiffel tower and preceded by a few hours of relaxing in Rodin's house and gardens staring at the thinker and the gates of hell... Anyway, I miss 1911 at the Century Plaza and want to go back soon, I've been seeing all sorts of articles and things about it and I started thinking of all the cool staff there (too many people to drop credit to, but you're all awesome) that always hooked me up and never gave a shit that I always wore my robe 24/7... Wish I remember that concierges name who let Sharpie peel his orange while she held her hands out and smiled at him and said "take your time"... Classic.... Oh, and 3 balconies per room is the only way to go at the CP, any less and you're not doing it right ... Anyway, time to eat, dinner is served... June 18, 2004 - I'm back... Sorry for the lack of updates but it's been a busy start to the summer... Starting with millions of cicadas on the east coast, to minifro visiting over memorial day weekend, to spending weeks in beautiful New Jersey... I promise regular updates now, more of the same shiznit... I have lots of pictures from my 2-week trip to Paris I took back in April, and many trips are planned for the summer... NYC, Philly, South Beach, LA so there should be some good pics from there... Hell, I've even found some new places in DC that are pretty good, in Adams Morgan... I'm going to update the fooderati section over the weekend... I had a chance to visit 6 phat daddy restaurants while in Paris... 5 of them were Michelin 3-star rated... The other was 1-star, but is supposedly the hottest restaurant and toughest reservation in Paris... March 12, 2004 - Back from Cali, pics are posted... Great group pic of Par, Kreft, Lox, fro, jackpot, and myself... I had a blast guys, gotta love the V-bar ;-) March 3, 2004 - Shiznit... All updates from November 30 until today were lost in a server crash or something... Anyway, it's all good, I will repost all the files and so forth, but I won't retype the "blog entries"... So all details from Nov 30 until today are GONE... Anyway, I was in South Beach again (was there for a week over New Year's) last weekend and it was great... Found the best pizza I've had in the states so far (hot south beach)... I'll do a write-up on it next time I visit.. I was down there for a B-style party so didn't have much of a chance to do anything productive, like take pictures of the place, or whatever... Anyway, I'm heading to Cali this Friday, just for the weekend... Gonna party it up with fro and par, and hopefully dozer and sovan can make it as well... It's older Kreft's b-day on Saturday so you know it's gonna be a tough weekend for all of us ;-) Pics and updates when I return, promise... November 30, 2003 - Sorry for the slow updates... Things are hectic on the east coast... I got a place this week and I'm trying to get Sharpie's ass over here on the east side plus the whole holiday shit... I will be in Texas for the next 3 weeks also (Texas is the shit, gotta love it)... Oh, I must say, I am impressed at the amount of email I have been getting from the haters... And just to piss you guys off some more (especially the dude who thinks the first class tickets were a 1-time thing), here are pictures of my plane tickets from my last Cali/Vegas trip as well as our bar tab at Light... November 1, 2003 - Updates made... I've been busy, sorry for the delay... Anyway, I'm off to Texas next week (flowing in the ATX), then vegas that following weekend, then back in Cali for another week, then back to DC... Pics will follow... September 15, 2003 - Big updates coming... patience... July 22, 2003 - I can't believe it's been over two months since I posted an update... I have been pretty busy, doing the usual shit... I am heading to Cali at the end of next week, but it'll be a short trip this time, just a week... I can't believe I am on east side more than west side... Anyway, I bought a new toy, Canon S400 (IXUS) digital camera with 1GB compactflash memory (yes, 1GB, aka 1024MB), it's in the toys section, in the av directory... So like Ludacris says, "read it and weep"... May 11, 2003 - Pics from my Cali/NV trips are up in the travel section, enjoy... May 10, 2003 - I guess this webpage must have been indexed by google or something because the traffic has spiked and so has the amount of e-mail I get from haters... Listen up, this site is for people I know, not for anyone else, so if you don't like my website, then go ahead and send me some e-mail telling me how jealous you are of my shit and move on... So anyway, I've decided to post a few pics for all the retards out there who continue to read this site and send me hate mail... Here's a steak that you will never get to enjoy (kobe ribeye)... Here's the way I (and not you) fly to Las Vegas (first class)... and here's a flight of rum you'll never drink (XO)... Oh, and just for good measure, here are a bunch of old boarding tickets... May 9, 2003 - Long time since any updates, I know... I have been traveling around and so forth... I was in Las Vegas last weekend and various parts of California the few weeks prior... Pics to come soon... April 22, 2003 - I was in Philly this weekend. I ate at a restaurant called Buddakan. Check out the review in the food section... Thanks to Kathryn for suggesting it... (RIP)... April 14, 2003 - Thought I would post a link to the XTASY GEFORCE3 Ti500 video card fix on the main page here. It's a technical fix I did a few months back and doesn't really have to do with anything, but whatever... April 13, 2003 - Lots of new developments, no time to talk about them. But, I did find the time to add some sushi photos in the food section, enjoy. March 24, 2003 - I made a new discovery. Rao's Marinara sauce. By far, the best store-bought pasta sauce I have ever tasted, no joke. Check my mini-review in the food section. March 13, 2003 - Bought my tickets for vegas, everything is in motion... details to come... February 28, 2003 - Upgraded my Aeron chair today to the newest model, I bought the PostureFit back support kit. Very comfortable and it looks sweet too... February 10, 2003 - Got another new toy, this time a laptop. The VPR Matrix designed by Porsche. It's even made of magnesium, like the Lambo's wheels ;-) January 28, 2003 - It's been a VERY busy past few weeks, and it's not going to get any less hectic. I'm flying out to Cali in two days for a week or so, then back to the east coast, then 2 weeks later back for a few weeks to Cali and Canada, and then more travel and yet more travel after that. The good news is that I am able to spend good time with friends I have not had a chance to hang out with on a regular basis in a while. I have a bunch of new pics and videos to upload, as well as some more articles I wrote. They will be posted next week when I return. January 13, 2003 - Not much is new here on the east coast... I will be back in Cali at the end of the month to do some serious partying with my boys... I've also added some more pics throughout the website... Oh, and I finally finished up the Morimoto's restaurant review... January 2, 2003 - Happy New Year!!! I know minifro was puking his guts out at a very styling hotel party in San Fran, but I was chilling in a Washington DC suburb at an undisclosed Italian restaurant eating some nice al dente pasta, no hangover for me this year... ;-) December 29, 2002 - Getting ready for the new year. Also, got a few cool Christmas presents also... Check out the Jabra Freespeak Bluetooth headset I got... December 27, 2002 - Back in Virginia after a few days in Maine for a VERY white Christmas! About a foot of snow fell that evening but luckily the rental car was a 4X4 so there was no problem getting out and to the airport on time to fly back. Pictures to come in a few hours... December 22, 2002 - I'm in Virginia. Packing up tonight to fly to Maine for Christmas. It will be nice to get away up north for a few days. Anyway, check out the Toys/Electronics/Computer section as I bought myself an early christmas gift: A Dell 20" FP2000 LCD :-) December 16, 2002 - Back from San Diego and getting ready to fly out to the east coast in 2 days. Gonna be there for at least 6 weeks this time, spending Christmas, New Year's, etc... Pics to follow as always... December 6, 2002 - Heading to San Diego for the weekend... Flying down with minifro and meeting up with Sharpie, details and pictures when I return... November 15, 2002 - Again, I'm back from the east coast, this time I'm here for over 1 month. I will be doing a revamp of the site soon, probably after thanksgiving, stay tuned... October 27, 2002 - I'm back from the east coast, taking care of some things here in California. I will be leaving again for the east coast (just D.C. this time) in a little over a week, for a short trip (8 days). No news really, I bought three new paintings, check them out in my art section... October 6, 2002 - Leaving in two days for the east coast. Going to be in D.C. and Miami for a little vacation. Two weeks of vacation to be exact. Should have lots of pictures and video footage of this trip when I get back... September 29, 2002 - I'm preparing for my next trip. Again, I will be traveling to the east coast for 2 weeks. I'll also be making a weekend trip to Miami during my east coast trip, should be a blast! September 16, 2002 - Spent the weekend in San Diego, got back this afternoon. Most of the weekend was at Pacific Beach BBQ'ing near lifeguard tower 21 with Tony the Tiger and his gang, and of course, minifro and Sharpie. Great time, I got a little sunburned, but it will end up being a nice tan by Wednesday. I don't really have any plans for the rest of the week besides work out and ride my bike at least 2-3 hours a day. I need to do a write-up on Morimoto's otherwise Hosun will never leave me alone, in fact, I think I'll do it right now, you'll find it in the food section... September 6, 2002 - Guess who's back? Well, after spending some time on the east coast I'm back. I'm spending this weekend relaxing at home in Silicon Valley but I will be flying back down to San Diego with minifro next weekend to hang out with Sharpie. I'm looking forward to some BBQ action on the beach. OK, so the travel section is updated with travel pics, and I have put up pictures of my dining experience at Morimoto's in Philly in the food section. August 14, 2002 - Flew down to San Diego this past weekend to hang out with Sharpie. It was a blast as always... Well, only 6 days till my next trip. Flying back to the east coast for my birthday, lots to think about on this next trip, it should be interesting... August 8, 2002 - Pics of my latest month-long trip are now in the My Travels section. I will be going to the Concorso Italiano in Monterey next weekend, look for some pictures of that event. I am also going to try and stay the weekend so I can attend the Concours D'Elegance at Pebble Beach but I am flying out to the East Coast the next day so I don't know if I will have the time... As it is I don't have enough time to take care of everything I need to... I'm really starting to dislike all this traveling... August 7, 2002 - Landed at SFO tonight, I only have 11 days here until I leave for the east coast again. Another birthday to celebrate, this time I will be on the east coast, which means crappy food, but good company with my friends there, so it's all good... I'll post pics of my California and New England trips to the Travels section by Friday... July 17, 2002 - Was down in San Diego and LA but I'm back. Going to the east coast tonight on a red-eye out of SFO. I'll be there until mid August so don't expect any updates. I will have my cell phone with me for part of the trip. I will also be doing a New England road trip and visiting Philly, NYC, Atlantic City, Boston, and other various places. Party on... July 2, 2002 - What a weekend, can't even begin to describe it.. I'm glad I survived, I feel lucky... Well, I guess I should get ready for tomorrow night, Sharpie is flying up from Diego and we're gonna start all over again... Probably going to head into the city for the 4th, get drunk and watch the fireworks... wooo hoooo!!!! June 22, 2002 - Heading to the DTM power BBQ in Los Gatos. Should be a blast, I'll post pics when I get back tonight. More official news, MiniFro has broken up with his live-in girlfriend of 2+ years and signed a lease on a new apartment in my building. We moved all his stuff in last night, tornado move-style, and he's almost 100% out of his old apt. Fuck yeah, you go bro! June 20, 2002 - Finished some
5AM driving around after MiniFro came back from LA, he just picked up
his new custom order 2002 Topaz Blue BMW M3 w/ SMG II after waiting
almost 7 months for it. Congrats bro!!! Check the pics on Minifro's site and check the private section for the pick-up video :-) |
